 | Willis Shackles Las Vegas Saturday, June 4th, 2011: In an excellent mound performance, Vic Willis of the Alabama Airmen whitewashed the Las Vegas Bosses 2-0 on a 3-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The Las Vegas manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Willis did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the Alabama hurler rang up 8 strikeouts and 2 walks in the shutout win.
This season Willis has a 4-4 mark in 12 starts with a 3.21 ERA. He has given up 74 hits in 98 innings, struck out 74 and issued 41 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .210 batting average against him. | |
