Las Vegas Loses Alejandro Oms
Las Vegas Loses Alejandro Oms
Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011: The Las Vegas Bosses were dealt a severe blow when Alejandro Oms was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the Sacramento Stingers. After the game, the team trainer reported Oms might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 24-year-old left fielder out for the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. They indicated it would take Oms at least 8 months to heal.

Looking at his stats this year, Oms has compiled a .323 batting average, while hitting 11 home runs and driving in 32 runs. He has played in 67 games and scored 43 runs.
