 | Los Angeles, Arizona Deal Made Friday, June 24th, 2011: The Baseball News Network is reporting that Los Angeles and Arizona have agreed in principle to a swap that will send 25-year-old first baseman Adrian Gonzalez to the Sandmen with 25-year-old starting pitcher Jason Hammel joining the Idols. Los Angeles's general manager would not confirm the trade, but a team representative close to the negotiations said the deal is official and is now only awaiting approval from the league. Thus far this year Gonzalez is batting .269 with no home runs, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. This season to date Hammel has a record of 2 wins and 2 losses with a 5.66 ERA, has appeared in 6 games and struck out 24 in 35 innings. |
