 | Deal: Howard for Verlander Wednesday, June 29th, 2011: BNN is reporting a rumored trade between the Arizona Sandmen and Las Vegas Bosses has been finalized. The deal, which is expected to be announced sometime during the next few hours, will reportedly send 27-year-old first baseman Ryan Howard to Las Vegas in return for 25-year-old reliever Justin Verlander. The clubs were noncommittal on the trade, but did not deny it. This year Howard is batting .216 with 8 home runs. So far this season Verlander is 3-and-0 with 2 saves and a 3.38 ERA. He has given up 55 hits in 50.2 innings with 47 strikeouts. |
