 | New York Stops Lowrey's Hit Streak Wednesday, July 20th, 2011: Peanuts Lowrey's 22-game hitting streak was snapped today at Judges Ballpark. The 24-year-old Ringers third baseman failed to get a hit in 1 at-bat in the game with the New York Heroes, but Philadelphia came out the winner, topping them 5-3. One of his teammates told BNN, "The streak was no big deal to Peanuts. He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames. That's the bottom line." So far in 2011 Lowrey is batting .366 with 2 home runs, 34 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 79 hits in 216 at-bats and a .418 OBP. |
