 | Louisville Shuts out Sheriffs, Volquez Winner Wednesday, April 27th, 2011: Edinson Volquez of the Louisville Racers worked his mound magic on the San Antonio Sheriffs. He blanked them 6-0 on 5 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and no walks. "Making good pitches is the name of the game and I made some good ones in this one," said Volquez after the game. To date this season Volquez sports a 3-2 mark with a 3.99 ERA in 5 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .231 batting average and has 30 strikeouts in 38.1 innings. |
