 | Hamilton Crashes 3 HR Against Los Angeles Sunday, May 15th, 2011: At Atlantics Ballpark Josh Hamilton hit homer... after homer... after homer. But they didn't add up to enough runs to beat the Idols. He parked three home runs in the seats, but the Hitmen went down to defeat 9-4 anyway.
"It was a good game for me... not so good for our team," the Chicago right fielder said. "I got lucky. I made some good swings on some pitches. We just didn't put up one in the win column."
On his record-making day he had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 4 runs and scored 3 times.
After his extraordinary game Hamilton told reporters at the press conference, "The third one was totally unexpected. I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run -- and BANG! -- I got #3."
J. Hamilton hit a solo-shot off R. Lopez in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off R. Lopez in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off R. Lopez in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
This season Hamilton has 6 home runs and a .365 batting average. | |
